Playing With Wonder

In our Toddler and Playgroup classes, the children have the freedom to explore various play areas - literacy, math, art and sensory, pretend play, blocks, reading, and outdoor -  fostering creativity, imagination, and indepence. Playing freely in these areas encourages social interaction, taking turns, and cooperation among peers. Music, storytelling, and simple games during the day add an element of fun and excitement to the learning process.

Benefits of the Class:

Social Development: Toddler and Playgroup classes provide invaluable opportunities for children to interact with their peers, learn social skills, and develop friendships. Through collaborative play activities, children learn important social skills such as taking turns and resolving conflicts peacefully.

Emotional Development: Toddler and Playgroup classes provide a nurturing environment where children can express themselves freely, build self-confidence, and regulate their emotions. Positive interactions with peers and adults promote a sense of belonging and emotional well-being, fostering resilience and emotional intelligence.

Cognitive Development: The stimulating environment of the class promotes cognitive development by encouraging exploration, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Hands-on activities such as building blocks, puzzles, and sensory play enhance cognitive skills such as spatial awareness, logical reasoning, and sensory integration.

Language Development: Engaging in conversations, singing, and storytelling, helps children develop their language and communication skills. They learn new words, express their thoughts and feelings, and gain confidence in verbal expression, laying a strong foundation for literacy and language acquisition.

Creativity and Self-Expression: Art activities provide a creative outlet for young children to express themselves and enhance their imagination. Through the exploration of different art materials, children can convey their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, fostering self-expression and creativity.

Physical Development: The classes incorporate age-appropriate physical activities that promote gross and fine motor skills development. Fine motor skills are developed through activities such as painting, cutting, pasting, threading beads, and manipulating small objects. Climbing, crawling, running, and engaging in outdoor play activities help children develop strength, coordination, and balance, contributing to their overall physical health and well-being.

Home-School Connection: The Google Classroom helps parents stay connected with their child's educational journey. Through the platform, parents can stay updated on their child’s activities and learnings, important school announcements, and upcoming events, fostering a sense of involvement and engagement in their child's learning and development.

Early Intervention and Support: Little Sandbox provides support for children with developmental delays, learning differences, or special needs. The teachers work with families and therapists to identify individual strengths and challenges and implement strategies and accommodations to support each child's unique learning journey.
